Panama's Minister for the Economy and Finance, Frank De Lima has confirmed
that the government will continue to seek out tax information exchange agreements
with other nations despite having reached the twelve
agreement quota set for inclusion on the Organization for Economic Cooperation
and Development's white list.
De Lima said that Germany has sought for double tax agreement negotiations to be
carried out in the first three months of 2012. Talks with the United Arab Emirates
are ongoing, with a Panamanian negotiation team also in London. Talks will
commence with Hungary during the first six months of the year, De Lima confirmed.
"These agreements are good for attracting investment into the country
and improving Panama's image in the international arena," De Lima explained.
